Ladies Golf
We did not have a comp on Tuesday 10th. This was once again due to bad weather so the Monthly Medal has been re-scheduled again to next week the 17th. This will double up as the first round of The Captain’s Trophy.
The Handicap Match Play team lost 5-0 to The Dunes but the team were up against far more experienced players. Their next match is against Moonah Links at The Dunes on Thursday 19th May. Good luck ladies.

A nice week to reflect on, with 44.4 mm of rain falling, strong winds each day, and even stronger winds on Saturday for everyone’s favourite golf game: Foursomes. Many of us, particularly in the morning groups, decided to play a much more sensible game of Stableford rather than indulge in the highfalutin nonsense of Foursomes, and it was my pleasure to have the company of Barry the Bandit and Rob Morrison. Barry and I have played together many times, but it was the first time that I had enjoyed the company of Rob. We are lucky to have such people in this golf club as these two. No pretences, enjoying a chuckle or two on the way, and making the golfing pastime a friendly pleasure. Unfortunately, I found the tee-off time a problem in my efforts to be on deck at the time I would prefer, and I apologise for those hungry stomachs involved. I will make better efforts on availability in the future.
The raffle produced a new winner. Well, as far as winning a Cliffex meat tray is concerned. The delightful David Bryan finally had success with the top prize, after a couple of Crown Lager six-packs in the past. I even got a cuddle and squeeze from wife Kelly which made it worthwhile. Guests of Helen Short once again scored a meat tray, with PA (I gather they are initials of a husband and wife) taking off the other meat tray. Frank Scholtz won the Crown Lager.
We look forward to next Saturday’s round of golf when the devotees of Foursomes no doubt will battle it out once again to find out who the experts of having alternate hitting skills will be after this absorbing contest. Ho-hum.
